Welterweight Fight week 650: Alex "Revenant"Immortale vs Robert G. Emmens
According the commentator at round 9, Revenant was winning 89 - 83 so at round 10 kicks in my "global" line: 1) if score>14 - round and roundswon>roundslost then 1/1/18 (outside).
Revenant, lose, obviously rounds 10,11 and 12, no stuns but at the end the fight is draw. Just 1 judge gave the win to Revenant by 5 points!
Someone could explain to me what happened? We already discussed about this line in the other thread "taking fight home" but after this bout it's clear I miss something.

Draw?????

Even this is not perfect. Sometimes you can still get a draw but a loss will be extremely rare. Remember "if roundswon>roundslost" only means that 2/3 judges believe this to be true. The third judge can easily sway the fight especially when your talking about 12 rounds with 3 judges all making different rulings. If you have drawed 8 rounds; won 2 close and lost 1, this line would still trigger in the 12th and the fight is still very much up in the air.
Don't sweat it. You did the right thing and the judges screwed you. Happens pretty often in this game and the sport. You won't lose any rating from a draw and ips will be minimal...

this is why I try to hammer people in the late rounds rather than just trying to sit on a lead, though again some of that has to do with my fighters style, here scouting also matters (I say this right after I explain how lazy I am about scouting in another thread) if you know they are coming for your head to try to get KO I prefer to just drop the agg but have high pow and def and go to the head so that if anyone is going down it will be them, though that is a better plan if you have won the endurance war than if you slapped your way to a lead (unless you are a KP dancer in which case this is the perfect fight, dance and slap your way to a big lead then let your KP handle their late KO attempt)

Not all will open up like that though. Your freaks have spoiled you too much . lucky for you this game isn't dominated by agile clinchers and agile sluggers anymore. Were currently in a SPD and STR era of sorts. Try running a freak clincher through regionals when AGL is the dominate trait. But back to the point, don't get confused about what this line means: "If score > 14 - round and roundswon>roundslost" This Is NOT just a "run away like a little sissy girl line". It just simply means: "Hey, I have the fight won, don't do anything STUPID." For the STRer fighter with an endurance advantage, what Ryan says is right, you should stay conservative enough to hopefully generate some stuns to the overly aggressive opponent with a defensive style like clinch or ring. Something stupid would be switching to an aggressive style that gets you stunned or ko'd. If you are the weaker fighter however or you DONT have the endurance advantage, the stupid thing to do is to become aggressive in an attempt to generate stuns or win further rounds. The smart move is to just dance away from any further damage and unnecessary ip's. Even if you look like a sissy little girl when doing so.

My poor Clouseau was so disappointed...

it is rare, just because the odds came up against you 2 times recently doesn't mean that rate will continue, it has happened to almost everyone, and sometimes it comes in clumps like that, but it still doesn't happen in the vast majority of fights

Try using a string of conditionals like this at the end of the fightplan. You can adjust the aggression for what you want to do. Example: If score > 13 - round and roundswon>roundslost then 6/6/8 (ring); If score > 14 - round and roundswon>roundslost then 3b/7/9 (ropes); If score > 15 - round and roundswon>roundslost then 1/1/18 (ring); If you don't want to do all that, then just change the (If score > 14 - round and roundswon>roundslost) to (If score > 15 - round and roundswon>roundslost) and this should raise the threshold where your safe like kicks in and help avoid some of the draws. Doesn't mean your not going to draw anymore, but it should lower the chances. With all things WeBL, you are still going to get screwed by the judges. However, sometimes they gift you a fight every now and then!

that's all true, but you'd better get accustomed that it will happen from time to time. the game is programmed to blow your mind sometimes, like it happens in the real boxing where judges make a lot of "strange" decisions.

As Powerlille said, sometimes you will get screwed regardless of what you've done. I have been up by as many as 5 points according to one judge, another judge had the fight tied and the other actually had my opponent winning the fight by 2. It's unfortunate, but it does happen and it is not as rare as you think. Paying off the judges is an ongoing thing in WeBL.
