Re: targeting opportunistic in Stars case above. I'm gonna have to side with Ryan here (as much as I hate to swell his head) Landing more punches doesn't outweigh the added damage dealt from targeting body here Star. Think of it this way: Your AGG/POW/DEF - along with your fighters stats and his fighters stats - (plus his DEF) determines two totally different things: ------------------- The first is Punches thrown (9xAGG) and punches landed = (PERCENT = SPD*SPD / (SPD*SPD + k * sqrt(k*opp(AGL))) The Second is damage dealt (End. Damage = POW * STR * sqrt(AGG * SPD) / opp(DEF * AGL) --------------------- Both derive from the same thing, but they are totally different. You don't do more damage the more punches you land. Punches landed only determine round scoring to the judges. Endurance loss is determined entirely by that damage formula (plus fatigue) and it has nothing to do with how many times you or they get hit. Also, there's no lucky punches in WeBL. You ko an opponent one of two ways - 1) he runs out of endurance or 2) you generate enough stun damage in relation to his chin to knock him out. A few extra punches in a round won't make a difference. That's the only way to, as you say, beat them like their supposed to be beaten So against the sissy, when your doing the damage - go to the body. When your catching up on score, then you can go opportunistic.

It's worth noting as well that as your endurance shrinks, so do the rest of your stats.
If you beat the tar outta that sissy until he's got 50% of his endurance, then (in general) his stats will be halved.
If he's a
6 STR 2 KP 18 SPD 18 AGL CHN 9 14 CON
Then he's really a 3 STR 1 KP 9 SPD 9 AGL 9 CHN 7 CON
and if your fighter still has 90% endurance? Have you ever tried to lose a fight when up over 20 AP's? Not easy to do, sir.

personally I would have targeted body, you would have worn him out faster, there are two goals of an allout, either to ruin the opp endurance or get the KO, it worked because he was a sissy that didn't adjust or have the str or kp to hurt you, but the more efficient use of the allout is targeted, either just go straight to the head or try to get the him worn out by going to the body, if you had gone body you would have gotten his endurance destroyed much faster. Also punches landed is never a consideration in an allout, you aren't trying to slap your way to winning the round you are trying to ruin his fighter

and never ever ever allout versus someone that has as much str as your opponent did in that fight, it quadruples damage taken so you ruined your own fighter with that allout

ah, yes, against space station, i didn't want my clincher to go clinch for clinch against his. i saw that in other fights that you had alot of knockouts in the first round. i assumed they were against kp fighters, but i was hoping that maybe your fighter had a suspect chin. boy i was wrong
ENFORCER NUMBER 4 is in the local retirement home. He took 229 ips with him!

He took 229 ips with him! Then "allout" was definitely the wrong choice. Remember - allout = 50% more damage dealt, but quadruples the damage received. If he's the stronger freak, try ring w/ def. When 2 freak clinchers meet - neither fighter gets much % bonuses from using clinch - the % bonus is the most important bonus - and the only reason these freaks get stuck in clinch only mode), if there's no huge STR advantage like in all other matchups, clinch might not be the best style anymore. Spend some time reading over style's again. It seems to be causing you some trouble. And play around in the sim - I think it may pay off.

Stars, you're the best thing that's happened to this game for years. It's like the Karate Kid, but with 20 or 30 Miyagis around you. Don't ever use allout against monster clinchers you're 1 inch taller than. If you want, I'll send you one of my monster clinchers (any weight you'd like, and any name you'd like) and I'll give you a sample fight plan for the monster if you'd like you can see what it's like running them. It's different from other ones because of the emphasis you put in the fight plan.

And seriously...
Quit being lazy about scouting and put some real time in on it. After a few weeks of scouting, patterns emerge that make scouting take mere minutes.
It will be critical to your ability to succeed.

I'll schedule the fight if you both agree... The loser will get laughed at on this forum by all - especially if he allouts
