Webl is going to put out an E-newsletter bi-weekly. We're aiming for the 15th & 30th every month.
The newsletter will be directed towards the newer generation of players, but anyone is welcome to receive it. We're looking for contributors who can contribute one article per month. If you want to do two, that's fine as well -- but at least one per month.
We already have some interesting stuff signed up -- Hemmy is willing to do some BK commentary. Our very own JimmyTheHarp is gonna drop an egg of knowledge all over us. DrFunk is not only going to help me with organization & editing, but also write a semi-gossip column kind of thing. Our very own Sin'nTerrors will be contributing a "History of Webl" series.
Writers can write about whatever they would like to write about. My only rule is this:
Since this is directed towards the newer crowd, you must be clear in what is fact and what is opinion. If that's not clear, for a fact you must be able to cite a source or example that backs up your argument as 100% truth. You can say whatever opinions or embellishments you want -- you just must claim them as "In my opinion..." or similar.
The goal is to do two things: 1) Offer insight that will help new people up to RT-level gyms get over the learning curve and be competitive. and 2) Help show them the different ways to integrate into the community and get to know people (#webl, here, forums, press releases, so on...)
I would like some newer people to chime in as well, as it would be especially helpful to read articles such as "What I struggled with in the sim, and how I got past it" or "Things that I have changed to gain more success since starting Webl". Point being: Nobody be shy to sign up, if you have something to share, I'd love to get it out -- and I'm fairly sure somebody will appreciate the insight.
If you're interested, please contact me or Doc Funk. We appreciate any help you guys are willing to give.
